Amy Lynn Hartzler born on December 13, 1981 in Little Rock, Arkansas, U.S. is a musician, singer, songwriter and pianist. She is the daughter of John Lee and Sara Cargill. Lee has one brother and two sisters named Carrie and Lori. She also had a sister who died at the age of 3 because of an unknown disease. One of her song from the album Fallen called "Hello" was written for her deceased sister and also the song "Like You" from The Open Door.
Rise to Fame
Lee became famouse because of the fact that she co-funded the band Evanescence among with guitarist Ben Moody. Moody met Lee on a camp after he heard her play the song I'd Do Anything for Love(But I Won't Do That) singed by Meat Loaf on the piano. After some time they recorded 3 EPs the first one being Evanescence EP released in 1998 the second one, which came out a year later Sound Asleep EP. In the year 2000 they recorded the Origin EP, and extended play which containd songs like Whisper, Imaginary and My Immortal.
In 2008 Lee stated for spin.com that she would possibly create a solo album with genre influences such as celtic and folk music.
