Andrew Warhola was born on August 6, 1928. Known as Andy Warhol, was an American painter, printmaker, and filmmaker who was a leading figure in the visual art movement known as pop art.

Although many people had the opportunity to meet him, nobody can say with certainty who was Andy Warhol. For advances in art, he will remain "The Pope of Pop". and because of his bizarre behaviour, he will remain a sad and misunderstood man.

It is possible that he, himself has not learned much about him in his relatively short life.Often, he answered monosyllabic in interviews, and he intrigued the audience many times with statements like "I am very shallow" or "prefer to remain a mystery." His work, in turn, resulted in numerous pop art works, experimental films, paintings, sculptures and several books. His work speaks about the personality of the creator... more than he would have wanted it.

Full name Andrew Warhol, the great artist was born on August 6, 1928 in a small town in Pennsylvania. His parents had left Slovakia (then, the Austro-Hungarian Empire) for a better life in the land of opportunity. Andy had a pretty troubled childhood due to frequent nervous breakdowns caused by a severe disease of the nervous system. Scared of hospitals and rejected by children his age because of strange symptoms of the disease, the universe or summary to draw, listen to radio and collect pictures of movie stars. Thanks to an obvious artistic talent, Andy went over issues and come to study art at university, then, to move to New York. After a while he kept changing rents in Manhattan, Warhol began to draw ads for magazines such as Glamour, Vogue and Harper's Ba-zaar. In one decade, its exhibitions have become more numerous and Warhol made a trip around the world, has published books ("Twenty Five Cats Named and One Blue Pussy Sat" and "In the Bottom of My Garden") brought her mother to New York and began to wear silver wig.

Flippant, brazen and flamboyant as an art world personality, Warhol long kept private his devout, lifelong Catholicism.

Andy Warhol died February 22, 1987 from complications after a gall bladder operation. Andy Warhol died in New York City on February 22nd 1987. He was killed by a myocardial infarction. He was 58 years, 6 months and 16 days old when he died.
