Armin van Buuren (born December 25, 1976) is a Dutch trance producer and DJ. Althrough Van Buuren was born in Leiden, Netherlands he was raised in Koudekerk aan den Rijn. He ended high school in 1995 and has a degree in law. When he was at college he made an interest for DJing and started working in a local club named Nexus.

Rise to Fame

He was voted number one DJ in the world in the years 2007, 2008 and 2009 respectively by DJ Mag Magazine. When he was at school he played more than four times in a week. On september 1999 he was made popular due to Dave Lewis in England and United States, at that time already being in DJ magazines on positions such as number 27. Until now he played in more than 25 countries . In october 2002, Van Buuren had been peaked on number 5 in DJ Magazine Top 100. 3 years later he reached number 2 just below Paul van Dyk.
