Emma Boughton is a canadian radio presenter. She was born in Oxford, England on November 27, 1970. She is most famous for presenting for Radio 1, the national British radio station, operated by the BBC. Radio 1 also broadcasts internationally.
Rise to fame
Emma was first introduced to radio presenting at age 7 when she participated in BBC Radio alongside Timmy Mallett. In 1998, she joined BBC Radio 1 (at age 18).
She started co-presenting the Sunday Surgery show along with Dr. Hamilton. The show was broadcast on every sunday evenings from 9 to 11 pm. The show was about all sorts of social problems on a subjects including: crime, sex, drugs and poverty. People regard her as a life-saver because of the show and she won 4 Sony Awards for her performance.
She also filled in various presenters including Liz Kershaw and Gideon Coe.
She eventually quit BBC's Radio 1 in 2005 and moved to Heart 106.2 where she was presenting a show from 7 to 10 pm. During this time she also presented shows for LBC and BBC.
Personal Life
She has two children: a daughter named Edie and a son named Billy Ray.
In July 2009, she quit her show on London's Heart 106.2 and moved with her family to Ibiza.
