Francis Albert Sinatra was born on December 12, 1915 in Hoboken, New Jersey, United States.
 He was a famous american singer and actor. Frank became a celebrity in the mid 1940, becoming one of the first teen idols. His parents were Natalie Della and Antonio Martino, both Italian immigrants. He had no brothers or sisters.

Frank's mother was a very influential woman in the neghborhood and was part of local Democratic Party groups. Frank being the only son she would frequently give him pocket money and money to buy fancy clothes and go on outings with his friends.

Frank started singing for the first time in public at the age of 15. In 1935, at the age of 20, he joined a local group of singers called "The Three Flashers" as a result of his mother's persuasions. The band became known by the name of "Hoboken Four" and he had his first break playing for 6 months on the popular radio show "Major Bowes Amateur Hour".

Three years later, in 1939 he played as the lead singer of Harry James's band and was discovered by Tommy Dorsey who added him to his orchestra. His career exploded upwards and he sang with the orchestra for two years (until 1942).

Frank made many public appearances to support charities and was an active supporter of liberal viewpoints.

Frank Sinatra's style was copied and imitated by many people and became a social standard in young teenage girls who wore ankle-high socks. He had huge success when mass-media begun to grow. Excited woman fans destroyed shop windows and surroundings of the Paramount Theater when he appeared on Columbus Day, October 12, 1944 being denied entrance to the already full theater.

Frank Sinatra's height was 5 feet 7 inches or 1.70 meters.

In 1997, Frank received the Congressional Gold Medal, the Congress's highest civilian award."

In 1980, Frank was inducted into the Big Band and Jazz Hall of Fame.

Frank was named Humanitarian of the Year by the Variety Clubs of America in 1983.

Sinatra's will contained a provision stating that anyone contesting the will would be automatically disinherited.

Every year on Frank's birthday, December 12, the Empire State Building in New York City is lit with blue lights in honor of his nickname, "Ol' Blue Eyes."

When the great Bela Lugosi died virtually penniless, Frank Sinatra quietly paid for his funeral.
