Hilary Erhard Duff, born on 28 September 1987 in Houston, Texas, USA is an american actress and pop singer. Hilary is the daughter of Bob and the producer Susan Duff. She has a syster, Haylie Duff which is also an actress, singer and song writer.

When Hilary was six years old, she was in the Cechetti Ballet with her sister and decided on following a an acting career and started auditioning.

Rise to fame

She played a starring role in Casper Meets Wendy in which she played Wendy, a young witch.

After playing a considerable role in The Soul Collector (1999), she won the Best Performance in a TV Movie or Pilot(Supporting Young Actress) Young Artist Award.

In 2001 she took the staring title character Lizzie McGuire in the Disney Channel series "Lizzie McGuire" which became the number 1 series. The character "Lizzie" became a very popular character and in 2003 Duff continued to play the role in The Lizzie McGuire Movie (2003). Lizzie McGuire was an instant hit propelling Hilary to the top of international stardom. Hilary continues her uprise, guest-starring on TV shows, playing in movies and releasing music albums.

In 2002 she released her first music album entitled Metamorphosis which raised up to the second place of the Bilboard 200. The song "So Yesterday" was played on all the radio stations a whole summer.
