Nadya Denise Suleman (Birthname: Natalie Denise Suleman) was born on July 11, 1975 in Fullerton, California. She is a renown mother who gave birth to octuplets. Nadya already had 6 children before giving birth to the octuplets in January 2009. The event made Nadya an instant celebrity and gained worldwide media attention her octuplets being the only full set ever to be born alive in the United States of America. One week after their birth, the octuplets broke the record on survival rate of octuplets in the entire world, a record that was initially set by the Chukwu octuplets in 1998. The octuplets and her six older children were conceived in vitro fertilisation.
The new information regarding her six older children and the fact that she was a single mother, unemployed and on public assistance programs immediately turned into negative public reaction. People begun being concerned regarding tax payer money going to the unemployed mother's pocket. Tax payer money costs of the octuplet mother was calculated at millions till the children would reach the age of 17.
Personal Life
Suleman married Marcos Gutierrez in 1996. Guttierez declared that the two could not concieve children together and although Nadya started in vitro fertilisation, Guttierez decided on separating and in 2006 he filled for divorce. The divorce was finalised in January of 2008. Although Guttierez divorced from Suleman, he expressed good thoughts towards Nadya and regarded her as a great person in an interview for the "People Weekly" celebrity magazine.
